01 October 2009 |
In its first partnership with AEG Live, Ministry of Sound will stage what is expected to be one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties this year when it hosts a live music event at the O2. Already booked is Calvin Harris, who will be joined by chart topping DJs Eric Prydz and Dave Spoon, and one of the newest kids on the pop block Example. More artists will be announced soon. Ministry of Sound Live 09 will offer around 15,000 revellers all night entertainment with nine hours of music accompanying spectacular visuals. Ministry head of tours and events Jenni Cochrane says it is the first time Ministry has linked with AEG and hopes it will be the start of further collaborations. She adds the December 31 party will be a “huge production” and they plan to transform the arena with multiple stages, breathtaking lighting, pyrotechnic displays and an aerial walkway that will see artists and entertainers performing along an LED lit stage high above the crowd. The DJ stage will offer a 360 degree experience for the artists and the event goers and for the midnight moment a pyrotechnic display will be set off, programmed to Calvin Harris’s set. Tickets, starting from £50, are available from October 2 from £50.
