|Chocolate Puma & Gregor Salto - Gimme Sum [Pssst Music]|
|03 September 2012|
Many beautiful years have past between their first monster hit Give It Up and now. Born as first generation house producers, a complete musical revolution has taken place right in front of Zki & Dobres eyes: From the first simple sampler, to a complete digital studio built into a laptop.
DJ Zki & Dobre; who are they and what are they up to? Two simple but pressing questions which are not easy to answer. The Dutch producers Zki & Dobre- respectively René ter Horst and Gaston Steenkist are responsible for so many productions in all kinds of styles under so many different names that they are extremely difficult to categorize.
Pssst Music was started in 1995 by Chocolate Puma, after discontinuing the hugely successful label Fresh Fruit label, on which they released their seminal ‘Give It Up’ under ‘The Good Men’ moniker. Pssst music saw René and Gaston reacting to critical acclaim by returning to their underground roots, focusing their attention on developing new artists and inventive new music, whether that was underground techno or bumping house music!
"Here's our latest collaboration with our buddy Gregor Salto. It's called 'Gimme Sum' and it's inspired by the whole Dance Mania/Chicago/Robert Armani vibe of the late '80's, but then with a 2012 Salto/Choco twist. And stuff."
