John Dahlback is big news; he is a seasoned dance music producer, he has his own record label, numerous heavy productions and an enviable international touring schedule under his belt, all this and still only 24 years old. He is also from Sweden, a country currently churning out a whole heap of talent.
"Stockholm is currently a hotbed for talented producers and we are very excited about working with John Dahlback" says Simon Dunmore of the deal. "He is an exceptional talent who has been making quality dance records for several years now. We feel with a focused strategy that he will become a global top billing artist"
When asked why John decided to sign to the label, John responds that it was an easy decision for him to make "Defected has always played a major role in music for me" he admits. "With strong releases from the beginning it has always had a huge impact in dance music. I feel very honoured to be a part of this legendary label and am extremely excited to put out my next album with them".
With the album scheduled for early 2010 and an aptly-titled single 'Autumn' due out on October 19th, we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with one of the most talented producers currently working in the industry.
