Last summer found him collaborating with Detroit legend Kenny Larkin . In October, Aber’s label Be As One released its first artist album, Samuel L. Session’s The Man With The Case. And just a couple of weeks back, Aber released ‘Create Balance’ / ‘The Drunk D Programmer’ on the recently revived R&S Records. It’s a powerhouse double A-side of classic techno, tough but nuanced, and versatile enough for main-room extravaganzas and afterhours sessions alike.
But as he told Resident Advisor in an interview last year, he considers himself a DJ first and a producer second. So a peek inside Aber’s CD wallet is always a good chance to find out what’s firing up his public. He’ll be releasing his next album on Ovum in June; in the meantime, Berliners can check him out this Saturday, February 20 at Len Faki’s Figure night at Berghain. Read on as Aber shares his favorite dancefloor cuts of the moment, including one seriously secret weapon only on wax. |
