The end of Fatboy Slim?
17 May 2008

Norman Cook has decided to retire the name FATBOY SLIM after 11 successful years. The superstar DJ will be working under a different title once his new album is released. He's worked under seven names since he started out more than 20 years ago - including BEATS INTERNATIONAL, PIZZAMAN and THE HOUSEMARTINS.

And despite it being his most successful alter-ego, he has made the guisy decision to put Fatboy Slim to bed.

The Brighton-based star, who played a blinding set at Radio 1's Big Weekend last Saturday, is toying with a few different ideas.

But the DJ-ing legend is keeping schtum about them until he makes his decision.

He said: "Yes. I am ditching the Fatboy Slim name but I can't tell you the new one. I'm going to take the Fifth Amendment on that qustion and not say because I'll get myself into trouble."
He has place in the Guinness Book of Records for achieving the most UK Top 40 hits under different names.

He added: "I hadn't thought of that so if hypothetically there was one more.... I'm changing my name to Madonna!"
