![]() New remixes will be released digitally on Turbo Recordings on 9th MArch 2010. Tiga’s “What You Need” is the gift that keeps on givin’ what you keep on wantin’. This second pack of remixes highlights the Canadian Charis-Man’s love of all things North American. “This is, in essence, a return to my roots. A lot of people just assume I’m from some magical land of Europe and Marzipan. Come by Canada some time, and I’ll whip you up some of my famous Maple Leaf Salad.” Chromeo “For the centerpiece of this release, I decided to turn to the men who Make Montreal Make Love. I know better than anyone how difficult it can be to shoulder the burden of an entire city’s sensual well-being, and I was confident that Chromeo could capture the churning, burning yearning at the heart of every erotic everyman.” Steve Aoki “I knew I wanted Steven to remix ‘What You Need’ after learning that he majored in Women’s Studies in college. Because who better to tell my female audience what they need than someone who learned their deepest secrets from an accredited university. Also, he remixed Lenny Kravitz, who is like a funky father to me.” A-Trak “I first got wind of A-Trak when he was an up-and-coming six-year-old in Montreal. Back then, I was making a name for myself as an acoustic scratch DJ, and in walks this toddler, who starts playing and basically shows me up in front of everyone at Craig’s Fully-Bilingual Coffeehouse. Well, I’ve managed to put that behind me, for the Sake of the Night.” “With this release, I feel I’ve made America something everyone can believe in again, whether you’re an exciting drum n’ bass DJ from Vermont or a friendless party promoter in Winnipeg. Thank you for trusting me with your continent. I will not let you down as I will you to get down.” ![]() |
