New York-based DJ / producers, The Wizard Brian Coxx and Alias Rhythm are joining forces with legendary house music label, Strictly Rhythm, to launch Soulgasm Music. The new label is a chance for the artists to showcase the Soulgasm sound and for Strictly Rhythm to put their weight firmly behind the artists they see as the future of house music. The debut release sees head honcho, The Wizard Brian Coxx, team up with highly talented New York vocalist, Sandy Spady to deliver ‘Everything’, a deep and funked up, sublime slice of house music that signals a true statement of intent. This first release is set for 6th April.
Strictly Rhythm has a long and illustrious history of discovering and supporting new talent in house music. Label GM Michael Finkelstein recognised their talent immediately and felt that backing the launch of Soulgasm Music was a natural step. He said, “Strictly Rhythm has an unrivalled history in house music, but we’re also looking to the future. Talented DJs and producers like The Wizard Brian Coxx and Alias Rhythm are the future of house music and we’re excited to be working with them. With our experience and support in the background, they’re free to develop Soulgasm in the way they want and have the platform to show dancefloors around the world what they can really do.
Soulgasm began as a weekly party, started by The Wizard Brian Coxx in New York 4 years ago, which rapidly developed a reputation as the only place to hear the truly authentic, deep house sounds of NYC. With Coxx behind the decks, his experimental and unrestricted approach created a vibe that saw the party packed out with house heads and party people. He knew he had to capture the essence of this party in a music production, so he began searching for the perfect studio partner to make it happen. Soon after, he met studio supremo Alias Rhythm and the Soulgasm sound came to life.
Soulgasm has developed as part of the Strictly Rhythm family, with Brian Coxx presenting the regular Strictly podcasts and, with Alias Rhythm, dropping the massive Soulgasm Sessions Vol.1 EP on Strictly in May 2009, to critical and dancefloor acclaim. They’ve since collaborated with Yasmeen for her latest venture on Strictly and have proven themselves as forward thinking, producers in touch with the dancefloor. Brian Coxx commented on the next step for Soulgasm, “We’ve worked hard to create the distinctive, deep, emotive Soulgasm sound and we’re really grateful to Strictly for giving us the chance to spread this sound far and wide. We aim to make Soulgasm Music the label of choice for discerning DJs and dancefloors everywhere.”
The Wizard Brian Coxx featuring Sandy Spady ‘Everything’ is released on Soulgasm Music on April 6th and includes a chunky, firing house mix from Alias Rhythm, a techy, deep dub and the dubstramental to complete a stunning debut release. Listen previews at their MySpace page .
