Now he hopes it will help other DJs and underground artists break through. "This is for me the main thing about my success - it's opening doors for other people from my community," he said. "I always felt that our music was under-rated, was not getting the respect that it deserves, and now this is changing a lot so I'm very happy about this."

"It's been extraordinary. At first I didn't realise how big my records were here, so it was kind of a good surprise," Guetta told AAP in Sydney. "You're so far from where I live in Europe and I spend a lot of time in America too, but here it's only my third time and I haven't been here for two years. The reaction of the crowds was unbelievable, really, really amazing. When it's a new territory it's always more exciting because you don't know what to expect."
