Listen/Download Release Here!![]() Read below interview with Steve Lade. He is a 20 year old producer from Finland. Steve first caught our attention in 2011 with his single, "Our World Is Here." More recently, he has a powerful new Remix coming out on Atlantic Records July 31st of Shinedown - "Unity" (Steve Lade Remix). We asked Steve to answer a few questions to help our readers get to know this new kid on the block.
What influenced you to become a Producer? My father was a big influence because he's a huge Tiesto fan. I grew up hearing 90's Trance around the house. I guess I'm from the first generation of producers that could look up to Superstar DJs as role models. I started playing piano when I was a kid, after that I moved on to drums in my school band. Since your Dad is a big Tiesto fan, I'm assuming he's supportive of your career choice? My entire family has been so supportive of what I do. When I told them I want to make this a career, they had no problem with me not going to college and just focusing on music full time. Most musicians aren't that lucky so I'm very grateful. You mentioned that you played piano and then the drums as a kid, how did you progress to actual production?I started playing around eJay when I was 12, at that point I wasn't really trying to make a track or anything, just having fun with it. When I was 15, I took it a little more seriously and progressed to Fruity Loops Studio. Last year, I asked my parents to buy me a Mac so I could move on to Logic, I built a little studio at home and here we are! What attracted you to the Shinedown - Unity project? My management sent an email one morning, I was in bed looking at emails on my iPhone. I listened to to the original on my phone and fell in love with the track. I was so excited about the project I started working on it right away. Brent Smith, Shinedown's lead singer, has an amazing voice, I'd love to get him on an original track in the future. How is working with a major label like Atlantic Records different from working with Indie House Labels? What I really like about Atlantic is that they take Electronic Music very seriously and have changed over the past few years by bringing back their Big Beat label as well as commissioning some really good remix work. They have a good machine for really promoting tracks which is awesome. Its an honor to have a project on such a legendary label, they've made decades of music history. What can your fans look forward to after the Unity Remix?I have a couple singles coming out later this year. Also, we're starting my radio show, "Get Lade". Other than that I have some bootlegs I want to make for the fans. Is there anything else you'd like to add?To all the bedroom producers out there, keep doing what you love and don't listen to what other people say. ![]() |
