Hold your breath - Make a wish - Count to three
Taking a classic song from one of the most iconic films in cinema history and working it for the dance-floor is exactly what Dave Spoon & Nick Correlli have done to ‘Pure Imagination’ under their Bubble Machine guise.
Re-titled ‘Impure Imagination’ it’s a quirky slice of dance-floor merriment, that builds with a hypnotic groove, teasing us with elements of the original composition. It all builds to a wonderful crescendo as Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka guise takes over in the breakdown and tells us to ‘Hold Your Breath, Make a Wish and Count to Three’ he then leads us into a world of Pure Imagination.
Andi Durrant opened his Friday night Galaxy Show with it last weekend and was inundated with texts and emails asking about the track. He followed it up with another play on the Saturday night show and it was more of the same. It also picked up a play on Steve Smart’s Friday Night Kiss show and garnered a similar reaction.
A track like this comes along once in a while, its shamelessly fun and makes you smile, laugh and reminisce while at the same time, has enough to keep the dance-floor shaking thanks to the guys fresh production skills.
