Basement Jaxx have announced detail of their forthcoming fifth full-length album, due for October release on XL Recordings.
The record is entitled Scars and the collab-happy duo will feature Amp Fiddler, Yoko Ono, Santigold, Sam Sparro and more along the way. Typically, it's a varied affair, with Billboard mentioning electro, rap, funk, ska and house in their exclusive preview of the record.
In other Jaxx news, the group apparently also have a second record in the can as well. This one, though, is an untitled work that is heavy on "Pink Floyd-y, more ambient-y stuff....more for bath-time music." There are currently tentative plans to release the tunes as a mini-LP later on in the year or in early 2010.

You can hear several album tracks-- "Saga" featuring Santigold, "She's No Good" featuring Lightspeed Champion, and "Distrackionz"-- on the Basement Jaxx website right now.
XL will release Basement Jaxx's Scars in October 2009.
