Firstly… Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone. We’re still recovering from too many mince pies, mulled wine, Christmas parties and too much turkey everything! We also had a cracking new year and despite having a weekend straight after to chill out… we’re still feeling ready to have a bit of a January detox and save our pennies for the crazy year that we have ahead of us…
January is normally the quietest time of year for a DJ, gearing up for Miami followed by an onslaught of festivals and Ibiza, top 100 fever and then the build up to Christmas and New Year BUT for Mr Van Doorn this month holds some really exciting things for him and for you guys.

How about kicking off 2009 by getting your hands on one of the most extraordinary collaborations in dance music history! In the UK you can download the single 'Close My Eyes' exclusively from iTunes now - it's going to be Sander's biggest single yet, the full release (in the UK) is scheduled for the end of January, but don’t wait that long for it, download it now!
If you're from outside the UK, we're afraid you'll have to wait a little bit longer to own it, but we'll bring you release news first via a news flash.

SANDER VS JULES

No Sander hasn’t made another collaboration tune, this time he’s fresh in from co-hosting Judge Jules’ Friday night show on Radio One in London. Yet again it was a great show and Sander showed that he’s a natural behind a microphone.

SANDER BLOWS EVERYONE A KISS

SANDER STUDIO SESSIONS RELEASE DATE IS RELEASED!!

We have great news. You’ve been posting on walls, sending messages and flooding our inboxes with one question more than any other… ‘When is Sanders next Studio Sessions video being unveiled?’. Well we can finally reveal that it will be available to watch for members on 19th January 2009 and then put out everywhere else the week after.

SANDER ON THE BOX

Sander has been on RTL, one of Hollands main TV stations talking about his CD single with Robbie Williams… the ‘watch again’ link is now not available but we are trying to get the footage off the station to put on his YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/sandervandoorntv)
Well December saw things kicking off with another awesome tour of Canada which i really enjoyed. It was great closing the tour in Toronto at Guvernment and playing there rather than Koolhaus was incredible - I've never experienced such an amazing atmosphere in that club before.
I then returned to Europe to play a gig in my home town Eindhoven after the PSV Eindhoven vs Liverpool Champions League football match in the players bar. Not my usual kind of crowd but I had great fun, Liverpool won the match 3-1 and PSV sadly went out of the competition.
Unfortunately my tour of the Middle East was cancelled due to promoter complications but I hope to be back there in 2009 but to make up for it I had a great weekend in Bulgaria and the Ukraine, it was the first time I'd been in Bulgaria and the Yalta Club gave me a really warm welcome so thanks to everyone that was there! The Ukraine was an incredible party, 3,000 of you crazy kids going for it! I had a brilliant time, although have to admit that I had one Vodka Red Bull too many after the show that night. But I guess if I'm going to drink to much Vodka anywhere, it might as well be in the Ukraine!
Next up after Christmas was Ireland and Scotland, two of my favourite crowds to play to, and once again i wasn't disappointed. New Years Eve in Wroclaw was amazing. 10,000 people in the Centenary Hall and one hell of a party. You Poles certainly know how to see the new year in in style!
Thanks to everyone who came to that show and I will definitely be back in Poland soon! I get a bit of a break to get back into the studio now before going out on the road again at the end of January.

Sander wins ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami and hosts his own night at the Winter Music Conference.
Sander goes skydiving!
May 08 -
Sanders online merchandise shop is launched.
Sander plays the first of 13 festivals in 15 weeks over the summer months.
June 08 -
Sander makes Organic, his first collaboration with his mentor, Marco V.
Sander plays the first of 8 Judgement Sunday dates in Ibiza.
July 08 -
Sander co-hosts Eddie Halliwell’s Radio 1 show.
Aug 08 -
The new look www.sandervandoorn.com website is launched
Organic holds the number 1 spot on Beatport for a good few weeks.
Sander represents Holland in the Olympics in Beijing… Kind of!!
Sander makes a track with pop legend Robbie Williams.
Sept 08 -
Sander launches the first part of his Studio Sessions video and his members section is launched.
Sander wins Best Breakthrough DJ at the 11th annual DJ awards, held in Pacha, Ibiza.
Sander does another Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 from Planet Love in Belfast.
Oct 08 -
3 of Sanders tunes get on Godskitchen – The Anthems 2009.
Sander moves up 2 places to number 13 in the DJ Mag Top 100 awards.
Nov 08 -
Sander takes some time out from being on the road and spends some time in his studio instead!
Studio highlights include collaboration number 2 with Marco V, ‘What Say’, and Sander’s old guise, Sam Sharp, makes a reappearance with ‘Roundabout’.
Dec 08 -
The Sander & Robbie video is released to the SVD members first and then gets played in the UK on MTV Dance.
The year is finished off in typical Sander style with an incredible party for 10,000 adoring fans in the Poland Centenary Hall in Wroclaw, Poland.
So we’ve had such a bloody amazing 2008 and we reckon that 2009 is going to be even more exciting so stick with Mr Van Doorn and you should be in for an exciting year!

PRODUCTION NOTES

2008 has been an amazing year for me on production front: releasing my debut album, the big success of Sia – The Girl You Lost To Cocaine, doing the first of 2 collaborations with Marco V, winning 2 awards and being nominated for best track with Riff at the Miami Winter Music Conference.
It has also been a very important year for me, discovering my boundaries in the studio and defining for myself what the SVD sound stands for. I feel I have explored and redefined genres and pushed the limits of soundscaping and I can’t wait for 2009 which will be all about just that with a lot of great projects already lined up! The single with Robbie Williams is just the start, the new collaboration with Marco V is nearly completed and I have a lot of new singles coming up (some even under my old guises). I have also finished filming my Studio Sessions videos for whoever’s interested in what goes on in the SVD studio!
