Florian Schneider, one of the two original remaining members of legendary electronic outfit Kraftwerk, has quit the band. A brief statement on the band’s official fan site, outlines the 40 years spent with fellow co-founder Ralf Hütter and thanks “the state of art that led to Kraftwerk’s music all these years.”
No reason was given for his departure in an announcement that was released yesterday (5th).

Florian Schneider leaves Kraftwerk after a 40 years partnership with Ralf Hütter. This partnership has generated an incredible music and huge advances in music technology.
Florian is a great musician, always seeking the perfect sound through technology. Refined and perfected sounds and vocoders to impossible levels of perfection.
