Ridney is releasing his ‘Arrivals’ track on SIZE on December 8th so Size have asked him some questions about the release and his career:

1. Where did the name of the track come from?

My girlfriend and I decided to go travelling in a camper van for a just over a month in New Zealand (both north & south islands) exactly a year ago (Nov 09). I started the track the day before leaving, on the plane and during the trip so it was formulated through seeing lots of “Arrivals” signs as we arrived at airports and new cities.

2. Favourite recent gig, either played or attended and why?

Playing at Wonderland in Ibiza for Moda (in Room 2) alongside Jaymo & Andy George this year was awesome! A totally rammed dancefloor, you couldn’t ask for more. Equally DJing at Hush in Ibiza doesn’t get enough recognition for its killer soundsystem, DJ set up (4xCDJ2000 & 2xDJM2000) and rammed nights. I saw Mixmaster Mike (Beastie Boys) last night in my home town and he is a different league in terms of technical ability and showmanship! No wonder he’s banned from the DMC!

3. What is your musical guilty pleasure?

Anything and everything musical. From Abba to Gabba, its influenced my brainbox at some point in the last 31 years!

4. What do you dream of doing as a DJ? If you’ve done it what was it?

I just want to play music I love, to crowds that equally love music

5. Favourite thing on your rider?

CDJ2000 or probably a DJM800 (geek alert!, why do some clubs not even have a DJM800?!)

6. Most random thing on your rider?

Enough power sockets in the DJ booth!!

7. Blonde or brunette?

Brunette 100%

8. Pet hates?

Fake people / huge egos

9. Laptop or CDJs?

Both

10. Tea or coffee?

Tea (fave is Yorkshire Tea)

11. Sushi or Steak?

Both (depends on mood)

12. Favourite piece of equipment/gadget

Ableton on my Macbook

13. Favourite animal?

The drummer in the Muppets or maybe the guys who did “House of the Rising Sun”

14. Does Size matter?

Of course it does! Certainly in a musical sense!
