Columbian DJ/producer Alex Young is undergoing a major musical transition. "I’m making a review of my career right now,” he explains. “I’m releasing my original tracks again, this time with remixes by friends of mine like Mario Miranda, Joe Maker and more on Kraft Records. I like the marvellous work that the remixers have put into these EPs, I’m really thankful to be working with them.” The remix project is only the beginning of a much larger shift for this talented artist. ”I’m in a transition as producer right now,” he continues. “I want to restart my priorities as producer. That means more power, more soul… no more software grooves and boring sounds. I want to print my soul on the next tracks I make.” A NEW AGE His desire to get away from the blandness today’s computer programs can promote comes from his love of real feeling and soul in techno. ”I really admire Seb Leger and Format B as the modern producers,” he says, “and I’m a fan of several classic techno producers like Marco Bailey, Len Faki and Arkus P. I feel that they print their souls on their tracks too.” With his focus so strong, it looks like we’re in for some great new music from this artist following the crop of remixes. ”2011 will be a new age of electronic music with Alex Young,” he states of his intentions.
