Exclusive interview with rising Swedish producer Adam Bjornberg

Sweden has some interesting musical stories to tell. Not only does it have the SHM and Avicii, but it also has the musical talent of Adam Björnberg. Residing under his Björnberg moniker, the 17-year-old Swede has brought us the thunderous beats of 'Absolut' with his debut release, and now was selected by Marc Mysterio for Sony Music Sweden to remix his new song, "Everything Is All Wrong" which features the comeback of Dhany from Benassi Bros (Hit My Heart, Make Me Feel, Every Single Day), and Karl Wolf, a platinum artist and MTV EMA WInner.

Adam sits down with Houseplanet.dj for this exclusive interview, his very first, to discuss his career.

Q1: So, Adam... You are 17 Years old, and your new release is a remix of 'Everything Is All Wrong' by Marc Mysterio featuring Dhany & Karl Wolf on Sony Music in your homeland of Sweden -- out today on Beatport -- how did you get to this point at such a young age and how did you land this big remix opportunity?
I recently joined RX2 Agency in Stockholm, and my manager Robin Davies had sent my song 'Absolute' to Marc Mysterio whom was in charge of organizing remixes for Sony Music on "Everything Is All Wrong". Marc loved my work and invited me to be part of the remix team, and we immediately accepted! It is supposed to be release by Sony in January, but came out on Beatport first today -- I'm very proud of it! So I guess it’s all the time i’ve spent on it and the love i have for it that got me to this point.
Q2: Is this your first official remix on a major release and how would you compare being a remixer on a release to your own original release?
Yes, this is my first official remix on any release actually. I think it’s great to get to do a official remix instead of a original track for a change, as people get to hear your interpretation of the original they are likely familiar with.
Q3: Your first release was an instrumental called 'Absolute' and released via Armada's Zouk Recordings. Are you planning a vocal version?
Yes, there have been some planning about a vocal version, hopefully it won’t take very long!

Listen/Download "Absolut" on Zouk Recordings!

Q4: How does it feel to have the opportunity to be part of a remix team on 'Everything Is All Wrong' that includes Francesco Diaz, Young Rebels, and a legend like Ron Carroll?
It feels great of course -- I am very happy to get this opportunity to hopefully open more doors in the industry.
Q5: What is your musical background?
I played guitar a while back, however, my true passion is producing house music!
Q6: Whom are some of your influences?
Dirty South, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, and John Dahlbäck are my main influences.
Q7: Have you begun DJing yet? If yes, what is the best gig you've had to date and what's your dream gig?
I don't, as of yet, have much time for djing whereas I still go to school. That said, My dream gig would be Tomorrowland or Sensation.
Q8: What singers would you like to collaborate with on future releases?
There are many: Rudy, Rebecca & Fiona, Ellie Goulding and Chris Martin are some of my favourite singers.
Q9: What is your favorite type of beer (Root Beer is not an acceptable answer, lol!)?
I don’t drink beer... I drink vodka -- Absolute Vodka -- I'm Swedish, gotta represent!!!
