'Redial' is the first single to be released off Sandy Rivera's much anticipated artist album due for release later this year.
For a man so prolific in the studio, it’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Sandy Rivera’s last studio album. While the singles have been coming thick and fast, a new long player has been akin to the Holy Grail for fans of the legendary Brooklyn-born producer’s sound.
It is with great delight then that we are finally able to issue Redial, the first single release from Sandy’s intriguingly titled 2010 album The Blackwiz Farm. While it may sound like a collection of kids’ ditties be under no illusions – this is anything but child’s-play. Smooth, effortless and seamless, Redial may be a surprising step towards a more progressive, underground sound for those that were expecting another Lollipop or Finally. For those who have been following Sandy’s journey over the past half-decade however, Redial will underline his transition to a more minimalistic state of musical affairs. Heavily inspired by the techno world bulging out of Eastern and Central Europe with a twisted deepness extracted from his US roots, the unforgiving track chugs its way through an exhibition in house music stripped down to the bare minimum. Rivera continues to be an enigmatic character whose natural refusal to play the trend or genre game makes him one of the most dynamic, exciting and unpredictable producers around.
