Apple planning to integrate iTunes into web browsers?

Gigwise writes about the possible integration of iTunes music store into our web browsers:

Speculation is mounting that Apple is planning to make its online music store iTunes available through web browsers. It follows the company's recent purchase of Lala.com, which – like Spotify – allows users to stream music over the internet.
A report in the Wall Street Journal says Apple is looking into integrating LaLa's model into iTunes. This would give Apple the ability to sell music through web browers and search engines.
Launched in 2003, the iTunes interface is currently only available when installed on a user's computer. Apple spokesman Steve Dowling confirmed the company's purchase of Lala, but added that “we generally do not comment on our purpose or plans”.
