In celebration of their 8th anniversary, Berlin-based label Get Physical Music will release a new compilation 8 Years of Get Physical on October 29th, 2010 mixed by DJ and producer Thomas Schumacher.
Founded in 2002 by DJ T., Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y., Get Physical forged a polished style of tech house that proved infectious in clubs around the world. M.A.N.D.Y. and DJ T. brought the label's sound to their countless DJ gigs, while Booka Shade became the imprint's key production outfit, releasing a slew of celebrated albums and playing live at dozens of clubs and festivals each year. The label has always kept up a busy release schedule, most years putting out around 20 releases by artists like Jona, Tiger Stripes and Fuckpony.
Get Physical 8th Anniversary Compilation features new and unreleased tracks by a diverse cast of artists, including exclusive cuts by label mainstays Italoboyz, Detroit producer Kris Wadsworth and Groove Armada member Andy Cato. The mix also features the first ever track by M.A.N.D.E.A.R., a collaboration between (you guessed it) M.A.N.D.Y. and Ghostly International's Matthew Dear. A single extraction of Schumacher's own production, "You Got Me," will see release this fall on Get Physical.
