Oosh was set up as the main vehicle for delivering Paolo’s productions to a wider audience. His production profile has risen spectacularly on the back of his tracks Nightlaw, Home, Sirena, 1983 (remixed into anthemic status by Eric Prydz), and JMJ (Pete Tongs “tune of Pure Pacha 2007”). {mp3remote}http://www.houseplanet.dj/mp3%20cuts/Paolo%20Mojo%20-%20Brooksong.mp3{/mp3remote} Brooksong has been eagerly anticipated ever since it made a broadcast debut on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection back in July. Very much a trademark Paolo Mojo record, Brooksong combines haunting piano melodies and cleverly sampled vocals and slamming rhythms to create a track that has both energy and atmosphere in equal measure. A real stand out peak-time record. Brookssong has featured on Radio 1 Essential Selection as well as on Paolo Mojo’s recent Essential Mix. {mp3remote}http://www.houseplanet.dj/mp3%20cuts/PaoloMojo%20-%20Bellsong.mp3{/mp3remote} Bellsong is a more subtle record but equally devastating if used at the right moment. Based around a low-slung, chugging groove the signature bell chimes lend a mellow, almost reflective quality to the track but there is still plenty of trademark Mojo punch to in the backing track. A classic end of set record that winds things down while retaining that all important energy level. |
