| Eboman - Sample MadnesS |
| 01 September 2008 | |
![]() Eboman produces Sample madnesS and is also known as a sampList. The development of Sample madnesS goes hand-in-hand with the development of digital (non-linear) media. As does Eboman’s work. Eboman specialises in the production of audiovisual sample compositions, the development of audiovisual sampling software and hardware and performances as a DVJ or with his SenSorSuit. The SenSorSuit is part of an audiovisual sampling system, called SenS, which Eboman is developing in cooperation with SmadSteck. SenS enables the user to manipulate audiovisual samples in real time and to combine these in a virtual 3D environment, thereby creating sample compositions or performing these in the studio or live on stage. Verknipt ('Cut Up') (2005) is an example of the multimedia shows Eboman has produced using SenS. ![]() Since 1995, Eboman has realized more than 500 performances all over the world, at highly diverse venues such as the Roskilde festival (DK), the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Lincoln Centre NYC, Sonar (SP), OnedotZero (UK), the Museum of Modern Art Barcelona, the ICA London, MOMA Montreal, the Liquid Room (JAP), the Queen Elisabeth Hall London and the FNCNM (CAN), Brixton Academy London, the Lowlands festival, Pinkpop, the Centre Pompidou Paris, Holland Festival Amsterdam and Tribal Gathering (UK). As a director, he has appeared in many different media festivals with his Sample madnesS films Fort Ebo GoLd (1997), d Driver must be a MAdMaN (1999) and LLib LLik (2004). As an audiovisual designer, Eboman has been involved in projects for Bløf, Doe Maar, VPRO, MTV, Ferry Corsten and the NEA Awards. Eboman has won many awards for his work, including the BV Pop Prijs, the NPS Culture Award, the Edison/Silver Harp and a clutch of Dance Awards, as well as receiving a TMF Award nomination. ![]() On october 19, 2007, Eboman will start on the publication, via the Eboman website, of all the audiovisual compositions he has produced since 1985.
