Don’t forget to talk about what you think of the new schedule on the www.sandervandoorn.com forum. TRANCE ENERGY AUSSIE STYLEESo this month sees Sander donning his cork hat and heading over to Australia to sink a few tinnies and whack some shrimps on the BBQ. If you don’t live down under or can’t get to one of the arena shows then keep and eye out on YouTube for footage as this will be a spectacular tour headed up by Trance / Arena show masters ID&T. Definitely one not to miss.KILLERS HITS THE SPOTSo Sander was asked by the Killers to officially remix one of their tunes from their recent massive album, Day & Age. Spaceman was a massive success and Sander did not one but two remixes of this classic track. It’s had really great feedback from the DJ world with support and really positive comments from everyone from Schulz to Ferry.{youtube}hSAHRYiA-i0{/youtube} Over the last 3 weeks it has been played twice a weekend on BBC Radio One by dance aficionados Judge Jules and Pete Tong as well as Scott Mills during drive time. Even Tiesto (who has done a remix himself) played it on his show on Radio 538 last Friday. We have not been given a release date for the remixes by The Killers label, Mercury/Universal, but as soon as we know that it's going to be made available we'll pass the information onto you guys. {youtube}xurKSjmKnEU{/youtube} OTHER SVD / DOORN RELEASES Sander’s joint production with mentor and friend Marco V, ‘What Say’ has been pumping out of speakers for a while now but after some serious road testing, passing with flying colours, you can all breathe a sigh of relief as it gets a full release in May! {youtube}vbHvhWvYjCc{/youtube}
Also just released on Doorn is killer track ‘Ummet Ozcan - Timewave Zero’. Since its release on 13th March it has rested nicely and comfortably at the No.1 spot in the Beatport trance charts. When it comes to picking the best tracks, Sander knows what he’s doing! {youtube}G9ebXtXO4lI{/youtube} Also there has been a rumour of a Purple Haze track coming... all will be revealed soon. SVD ROCKS MALTASander played the opening of stylish new club Renaissance on the lovely island of Malta on the 14th of March, and what a party it was! Here are a few of the pictures from the night and we’re sure that Sander will be back before too long for another party on the island.TOP 51. Sander van Doorn & Marco V – What Say2. Marcus Schossow - From My Heart (Dub Mix)PRODUCTION NOTESMarch was quite a busy month on the road, but there was still time left to do some producing. I managed to finalise some of my own tracks and made two new remixes, one of which being a rework of an old classic from “Pancake”. Together with the finishing touches on the new collaboration with Marco V called “What Say” I think I’ve now got a good stock of records for the months ahead!April will leave me with some studio time as well; so more news from the production front will follow. ON THE ROADMarch was busy as always! I finished the end of my Argentina birthday weekend at the beginning of the month, and then played two parties I hadn’t done before, Intensity in Inverness and Privilege in Tunisia. The craziest weekend I’ve had in a while followed. Starting in Cork (Ireland), which felt like a homecoming gig with a phenomenal atmosphere and absolutely amazing crowd. Then we went on to Malta, I was shattered from no sleep the night before so went straight to bed but woke up to the most amazing view over the harbour in St Julians. We went for my favourite dinner, steak, in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the sea. It was really nice to go out and see a bit of the town as most of the time you have to stay in your room catching up on bits online or completing a mix or something but I made sure I set aside a few hours to enjoy myself!I had an incredible weekend in Brazil too, only slightly messed up by the fact that the festival had to be moved to two clubs due to problems with the licence. Crazy I know but that’s Brazil for you! I had a good catch up with Jay, my agent, who’s not been on the road with me so much recently and managed to get a bit of sunbathing in. Jay braved going in the sea only to get tackled side-on by a wave and had to go to the hospital in an ambulance to check he hadn’t broken his back! There’s never a dull moment on the road. As you can see above I’m off to Australia soon, I’ve just had the tour schedule through. 30 pages of info on everyone’s movements. Wow, that is a lot of organising to do. Rather them than me!
