On this EP,
Robert Solheim gives us a taste of his forthcoming album “Heretics” with 2 trippy and techy house tracks of his unique style including superb remixes from
John Tejada and
DJ Puk. This Norwegian composer and producer has been releasing quality underground music spanning from
ambient to
chilled electronics,
techy house and
techno for more than a decade. And now, after spending months fine-tuning the album “Hollywood under the knife” in the dark electronica project
The Opiates with Billie Ray Martin, he has finally found time to submerge himself into his other world, of fine art electronics and is back with a new EP in the category, "music for your home and club entertainment ".
The
“Syv / O Portiño EP” contains two trippy and techy house tracks both taken from his forthcoming album
"Heretics", and the EP comes with astonishing remixes from
John Tejada (Kompakt , Poker Flat, Palette) and
DJ Puk (Aquavit Records, Smiley Fingers). Be prepared to go deep both at home and on the dance floor. Release date in December 2011, on digital and
limited to 300 copies on vinyl.

Comments: Syv is sly and balanced. Robert Solheim has a wonky beat that is just curious enough to funk it up the right way. A definitive dance track, upbeat and slightly brazen even. John Tejada's mix evens out the warp, and bends the beat into something akin to a darker Depeche Mode sound. O Portiño caresses the glass ceiling. It's a cascade of colorful rhythm flailing with seamless loose threads.
