One of Europe's biggest and most hedonistic gay parties is coming to Melbourne for the first time and if that’s not a good enough reason to leave the house, it’s for Halloween! On Sunday October 31st, Europe’s (in)famous Matinée will be turning Billboard into a Halloween party so wild it’ll have you screaming.
Matinée Group is responsible for world class events that have re-defined gay and lesbian clubbing around the world. With weekly Ibiza residencies at Amnesia, the 50,000+ attendee Circuit Festival, and a current tour of the world’s biggest party destinations including Brazil, USA, UK and even Egypt, Matinée is without a doubt the hottest club brand in the world. Now, Melbourne finally has the chance to see what all the fuss is about.
Expect more tricks and treats than you could poke a broom at, from one of Europe’s most famous DJs, J.Louis. Known for his mix of sexy European house, J.Louis’ name is regularly seen alongside holy words like Morillo, Calderone and Morales. Found behind the decks of Space and Amnesia (Ibiza), Crash (London) and Action (Paris), J.Louis effortlessly blends the full spectrum of house, stating, "everything ends up being commercial, especially through the radio stations, but we mustn't forget that long before ending up on the air, [tracks] have already been played in the clubs."
Helping make things go bump in the night will be house wunderkind Jimi Harrison, international drag sensation and superstar DJ Kitty Glitter, scene stalwart Mike Evans, founding member of elite DJ fraternity Oxford Hustlers, Murray Hood plus DIVA voted “God of the Dance Floor” Peter McNamara.
Melbourne’s guys and ghouls can also expect a trademark Matinée light and sound spectacular from a team obsessed with audio visual perfection, plus outrageous costumes, a fierce crowd, and performances to die for.
