Painting the tone arm base?

So I just finished taking apart every last piece of the turntable prepping it for painting (Including the damn tonearm ). Do you paint the tone arm base? I supposed you could if you masked the height adjustment markings, but I dunno if its worth the trouble wiping off the oil, prepping, then reoiling when you're done
